To register the product, please do the following:
- Open Protegent Antivirus Solution
- Click on the License tab. A pop-up window will appear with a form
- Fill in all the necessary information, such as First Name, Last Name, Company (optional), Phone Number (optional), Email Address, and Country. Enter the Username and password you received in the email or refer to the CD cover for them.
- After filling in all the details, click OK and your product is registered.
Protegent Total Security can block websites and applications as per the user's requirement. To do this, the user should follow the following steps:
- Open Protegent Total Security and click on the Web tab.
- In the application rules, users can add an application rule by clicking on Add Rule.
- By clicking on Add Rule, the user needs to select the application to be blocked and select the Action as Block. This will block that application from executing.
- In the Category Tab, users can block websites based on various categories like Unethical, Adult, Computers, Business, Personal, Unrated, etc.
Protegent Antivirus Solution works perfectly fine with all Windows operating systems including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Servers OS also.
Process 1
To Update The Product Offline Please Do The Following:
- Open Protegent and click on Update.
- Then, click on either the Primary download server or the Secondary download server to reach the page to obtain the offline update for Protegent.
- After that, click on the .exe file of Protegent which directly downloads an update for Protegent and is used to update Protegent on a computer without internet access.
Process 2
To Update The Product Offline Please Do The Following:
- Open Protegent360.com and go to the download option in the menu.
- Click on the Offline update from the download menu.
- You will be redirected to the offline update page. After that, click on the .exe file of Protegent which directly downloads an update for Protegent and is used to update Protegent on computers without internet access.

(a) When the PC is connected to the internet
While registering the product, it asks for a key number. The user needs to enter the same key number which was provided to the user upon purchasing the product. After providing the registration key it asks for the user's details to complete the registration process. After clicking the “Register” button, the user gets the acknowledgment for the successful registration. Now the user needs to select the settings as per the requirement.
On clicking the next button, the dialog box displays "Configuration Completed Successfully”. Click on the “Finish” button.
(b) When the PC is not connected to the internet or acts offline
This represents offline registration using the activation code received by the user when the PC is not connected to the internet.
First, you have to call our toll-free number and provide the details of the products to our executives. They will then give you an offline activation key and you have to follow the steps below:
Select complete registration offline, using an active activation code (When the PC is not connected to the internet). On clicking the “Next” button, the user needs to enter the key number provided, to the user when purchasing the product.
Note: The Protegent 360 offline activation dialog box will prompt, displaying the following message:
- The “P360Activation.exe” file is created on the desktop. Copy this file from the desktop & run it on any internet-enabled PC. After filling out the registration form, you will receive a 20-digit offline activation code.”
- By clicking the finish, automatically the .exe file will appear on the user's desktop, requiring them to connect to the internet.
- Once it is connected to the internet, the user needs to fill out the registration form. Click on the “Register Now” button and the registration form will display as follows:
- After clicking the “Register” button you get an acknowledgment for registration that it has been successfully completed.
- On your email address, the 20-digit activation code is provided once this registration is done.
- After this authentication, a screen will appear asking for the password set at installation. On entering the password, click on OK, welcome to Protegent 360 dialog box will display.
- After this, Protegent 360 License Info will display, including 30 days for the trial and 370 days for the retail version.
- Click on activate license and then click on OK.
- Once the license is activated, the registration for offline is completed.
- On clicking the next button, enter the activation code of “20 digits” which is already intimate on the user’s email address.
- On clicking next, welcome to the Protegent 360 configuration. It will ask for the type of settings to be used i.e. Default or Custom.
- On selecting the settings as per your requirement, click on next.
- The dialog box displays that the configuration has been completed successfully. Click on “Finish”.
This type of issue has two main causes:
The previous Protegent Total Security was not removed or the installation was faulty.
In this case, follow these steps:
Remove Protegent Total Security completely from the system:
- Download the Protegent uninstall tool on your computer.
- Run the uninstall tool using administrator privileges.
- Restart your computer.
Reinstall Protegent Total Security on the system.
- Protegent Total Security is not the only security solution installed on your system.
By clicking on Add Rule, the user needs to select the application to be blocked and select the Action as Block. This will block that application from executing.
In this case, follow these steps:
Remove the other security solution.
Remove Protegent Total Security completely from the system:
- Download the Protegent uninstall tool on your computer.
- Run the uninstall tool using administrator privileges.
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall Protegent Total Security on the system.
- Please contact Protegent Support Center if the problem persists.
As far as Port Locker is concerned, it only filters mail sent via MS Exchange and MS Outlook.
No, it will not backup complete data. It will take an image of the index file to recover data.

Usually, after installing security software, there may appear to be a slight slowdown of the system, which to a certain degree is normal.
If You Notice A Significant Slowdown, This Issue Can Appear For The Following Reasons:
Protegent Total Security is not the only security program installed on the system.
Though Protegent Total Security searches and removes the security programs found during the installation, it is recommended to uninstall any other antivirus program you may use before installing Protegent Total Security. For more information, please refer to “How do I remove other security solutions?”
The Minimum System Requirements for Protegent Total Security are not met.
If your machine does not meet the Minimum System Requirements, the computer will become sluggish, especially when multiple applications are running at the same time. For more information, please refer to “Minimum system requirements".
There are too many invalid registry keys left in your Windows Registry.
Cleaning the Windows Registry can improve your system's performance. For this, you can use Protegent Total Security's Registry Cleaner feature.
Your hard disk drives are too fragmented.
File fragmentation slows down file access and decreases system performance. Running Disk Defragmenter can improve your system's performance.
Applications running on your system use too many resources.
The Protegent Total Security Performance Monitor allows you to determine the impact of applications running on your system using CPU load, memory usage, and hard disk use.
You should be able to pinpoint the applications that are causing the system to perform poorly, and close or monitor them.
Activity Reporter records all emails, websites visited, and anything typed. This software would act as an ideal detective. You can get a report of every keystroke/activity on the computer or the internet. In addition, you can get a screenshot of the user’s activity regularly. The feature of whitelisting and blacklisting applications will help you monitor more effectively.
