How to register my product?

To register the product, please do the following:

Open Protegent Antivirus Solution

Click on the License tab. A pop-up window will appear with a form

Fill all the necessary details like First Name, Last Name, Company (optional), Phone no (optional), Email Address , Country. Enter the Username and password you would receive on the email or refer to the CD cover for the same.

After filling all the details, click on OK and your product is registered

How to block websites and applications?

Protegent Total Security can block websites and applications as per user’s requirement. To do this, user should follow following steps:

Open Protegent Total Security and click on Web tab

In the application rules, user can add an application rule by clicking on Add Rule.

On clicking on Add Rule, user needs to select the application which needs to be blocked and select the Action as Block. This will block that application from executing.

In the Category Tab, user can block the websites depending on the various categories like Unethical, Adult, Computers, Business, personal, Unrated, etc.

Can I use this software on any Windows operating system?
Protegent Antivirus Solution works perfectly fine with all Windows operating system including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Servers  OS also.
How to manually update Protegent virus definitions on a computer that does not have Internet access?

Process 1

To update the product offline please do the following:

Open Protegent and click on update

Then, click on either Primary download server or Secondary download server to reach the page to down the offline update for Protegent.

After that, click on .exe file of Protegent which directly downloads update for Protegent and used to update Protegent in computer that doesn’t have internet access.

Process 2

To update the product offline please do the following:

Open Protegent360.com and go to the download option in the menu.

Click on Offline update from the download menu.

You will be redirected to the page of offline update. After that, click on .exe file of Protegent which directly downloads update for Protegent and used to update Protegent in computer that doesn’t have internet access.

How to Register P360?

(a) When PC is connected to the internet

While registering the product, it will ask for the key number. User needs to enter the same key number which is already provided to the user on purchasing the product.
After providing the registration key it asks for the user details to complete the registration process.
After clicking the “Register” button user gets the acknowledgment for the registration that is being successfully done.
Now the user needs to select the settings as per requirement.
On clicking the next button, the dialog box displays as “Configuration Completed Successfully”. Click on “Finish” button.

(b) When PC is not connected to the internet or act as offline

This represents offline registration using the activation code received by the user when PC is not connected to the internet.
First you have to call on our toll free number and provide the details of the products to our executives. They will then give you an offline activation key and you have to follow the steps below:
Select on complete registration offline, using an active an activation code (when PC is not connected to the internet).On clicking the “Next” button, user needs to enter the key number which is already provided to the user on purchasing the product.

Note: Protegent 360 offline activation dialog box will prompt which display the message as:

“P360Activation .exe” file is created on desktop. Copy this file from desktop & run from any internet enabled PC. After filling the registration form, you will get 20 digits offline activation code.”

On clicking the finish, automatically the .exe file will be generated on user’s desktop as shown that needs to connect to the internet.

Once it is connected to the internet, user needs to fill the registration form.Click on the “Register Now” button and the registration form will display as follows:

After clicking the “Register” button you get acknowledgment for registration that it has been successfully done.

On your email address the activation code of 20 digits is provided once this registration is being done.

After this authentication screen will appear asking for the password set at the time of installation. On entering the password, click on ok, welcome to Protegent 360 dialog box will display.

After this, Protegent 360 –License Info will display including 30 days for trial and for retail it meant for 370 days.

Click on activate license and then click on OK.

Once the license is activated, the registration for offline is completed.

On clicking the next button, enter the activation code of “20 digits” which is already intimate on user’s email address.

On clicking the next, welcome to Protegent 360 configuration will ask for the type of settings to be used i.e. Default or Custom.

On selecting the settings as per requirement, click on next.

The dialog box displays as configuration completed successfully. Click on “Finish”.

Protegent is not scanning my system?

This type of issue can have two main causes:
A previous Protegent Total Security installation which was not completely removed or a faulty Protegent  Total Security installation.

In  this case, follow these steps: 

Remove Protegent Total Security completely from the system:

  • download the Protegent uninstall tool on your computer.
  • Run the uninstall tool using administrator privileges.
  • Restart your computer.

Reinstall Protegent Total Security on the system.

  • Protegent Total Security is not the only security solution installed on your system.

On clicking on Add Rule, user needs to select the application which needs to be blocked and select the Action as Block. This will block that application from executing.

In this case, follow these steps:

Remove the other security solution.

Remove Protegent Total Security completely from the system:

  • download the Protegent uninstall tool on your computer.
  • Run the uninstall tool using administrator privileges.
  • Restart your computer.

Reinstall Protegent Total Security on the system.

  • If you still experience the problem please contact to Protegent Support Center.
Does email filtering is possible for Yahoo or Gmail?

No, Port Locker only filter mails send via MS Exchange and MS Outlook.

Does Crash Proof take backup of complete data?

No, it will not take any back up of complete data. It will take image of index file through which it will recover data.

My system is slow after installation?

Usually, after installing security software, there may appear a slight slowdown of the system, which to a certain degree is normal.

If you notice a significant slowdown, this issue can appear for the following reasons:

Protegent Total Security is not the only security program installed on the system.

Though Protegent Total Security searches and removes the security programs found during the installation, it is recommended to remove any other antivirus program you may use before installing Protegent Total Security. For more information, please refer to “How do I remove other security solutions?”

The Minimum System Requirements for running Protegent Total Security are not met.

If your machine does not meet the Minimum System Requirements, the computer will become sluggish, especially when multiple applications are running at the same time. For more information, please refer to “Minimum system requirements”

There are too many invalid registry keys left in your Windows Registry.

Cleaning the Windows Registry can improve the performance of your system. For this you can use Registry cleaner feature of Protegent Total Security.

Your hard disk drives are too fragmented.

File fragmentation slows down file access and decreases system performance. Running the Disk Defragmenter can improve the performance of your system.

The applications running on your system are using too many resources.

The Protegent Total Security Performance Monitor allows you to determine the impact of the applications running on your system by means of CPU load, memory usage and hard disk use.

You should be able to pinpoint the applications that are causing the system to perform poorly, and close or monitor them.

What activity reporter monitors?

Activity Reporter records all emails, websites visited, and anything typed. This software would act as an ideal detective. You can get the report of every key stroke/ every activity on the computer or internet and you can get the screen shot of user’s activity on a regular basis. The feature of White list and blacklist applications will help you to monitor more effectively.

Is it possible to use certain USB drives while ports are blocked?

Yes, by White listing a USB drive you can use it on system on which ports are blocked.

Does Crash Proof recover data from external Hard Disk also?

No, It will recover data from primary hard disk only.
